Hitachi Energy is seeking a Data Scientist for its Digital Solutions group in USA, this position will be located in our Technology Center in Poland. This position is a data scientist role in a R&D team which is serving global technology development of distribution transformer business. Our business is power equipment manufacturing which involves various business processes from engineering to manufacturing. Candidates will be required to travel up to 15% (globally) based on project needs.

Your responsibilities
  • Display technical expertise in data analytics to a team of diversified technical competencies.
  • Propose project initiatives and value-added analytics that will drive business productivity.
  • Display a proficiency in the application of machine learning in engineering design process, use of predictive modeling in engineering and manufacturing process, creation and maintenance of data warehouse, business intelligence initiatives and asset diagnostic algorithms.
  • Use data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau to create professional quality dashboards and reports.
  • Develop predictive models and utilize machine learning/data science techniques such as Hierarchical Clustering, Artificial Neural Networks, Ensemble Learning, Random Forest, Naive Bayes, etc.
  • Consolidate SQL database from multiple sources, data cleaning and manipulation in preparation for analytics and machine learning.
Your background
  • BS in Computer Science, Data Science or related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of related working experience in data science, data analytics, machine learning and business intelligence.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience with Python (Scikit-learn, XGBoost, Tensorflow, Pytorch, Numpy, Pandas).
  • Experience in utilizing cloud-based environment for developing and deploying machine learning solutions such as Azure Machine Learning Studio.
  • Experience with MLOPS including model monitoring, registration, deployment.
  • Experience using and building Azure DEVOPS pipeline.
  • Experience with Azure data platform (Synapse, Azure data factory, Azure Data Lake Storage).
  • Experience with power product (transformer) or industrial goods manufacturing environment .
  • Proven record to learn new business background, engineering and manufacturing process quickly.
  • Familiar with modern SDLC and project management process/tools.
  • Innovative and creative self-starter who is enthusiastic to challenge status-quo.
  • Ability to quickly grasp concepts from a field that is not ones core competency; a fast-learning generalist capable of solving problem independently and resourceful in matrixed corporate environment.
  • Current work permit valid in Poland.
