Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as database engineer or administrator,
• Experience in implementation of the best practices and performance tuning,
• Analytical thinker,
• Ability to work under pressure with minimum of supervision to meet tight deadlines,
• A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or substantial previous experience,
• Very good knowledge of database products,
• Good knowledge of scripting languages/automation,
• Experience in in working in cloud environment and providing or support database services in Cloud,
• Experience in SAP HANA, Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL area is a plus,
• Experience in international projects, internationalized application development, or globally operating companies will be considered as asset,
• Good communication and coordination skills,
• Excellent written and spoken English,
• Experience in working in a high availability environment (24X7),
• Presenting “CAN DO” attitude.

 

Database Engineer will be responsible for engineering the DB solution based on MS SQL Server and/or Azure SQL Server technology. Those activities will include backup/restore, performance monitoring and tuning, high availability, security and easy to operate and maintain.
 

 

Main accountabilities

• Design and delivery a solution to provide DBaaS for large number of client applications,
• Reporting  – determine any trends and produce regular management reports based on various metrics:  availability, usage and performance,
• Continuous improvement of standards and processes and provides recommendations and guidance for improvements of our design,
• Provide support and make provision of various database environments,
• Provide assistance to customers in resolving issues and performance bottleneck,
• Support performance testing and application benchmarking activities.
